Dana is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with an MA in Counselling Psychology from Providence Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing a post-graduate, Advanced Diploma in Art Therapy at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. Dana completed an Internship at the Calgary Counselling Centre, has worked at Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse and the Alberta Health Services South Campus as a family counsellor.
Dana’s approach to counselling is motivated by hope and a belief that positive change is available to everyone. She is a compassionate practitioner who values authenticity. Using a variety of modalities, Dana will collaborate with you in setting and moving towards the goals that you set out for therapy.
Dana is the mother of a teenager, loves theater and the arts, and is an avid reader, always having a book or two on the go. She loves travelling and immersing herself in other cultures, enjoys hiking and exercising, sharing food and great conversation with friends.
Dana provides personal counselling using a variety of modalities with teens, families, adults, groups and couples: mental health/illness, difficulties with mood such as emotional dysregulation and depression, anxiety, crisis, experiences of sexual violence, PTSD, suicidality, self-harm, difficulties with intimacy and trust in relationships, self-esteem/identity and self-empowerment, life transitions and spirituality.
