Young Adult Workshop

Welcome to our Young Adult Workshop Page! Do you have a college Student at home that could use some help with planning for the future? Do you often wonder if they will ever leave home and be successful in the REAL world? Are you that Young Adult who dropped by this page?

What are the takeaway’s – How will I benefit?

Be part of a safe place to process thoughts, ask questions, and dialogue about issues most relevant to young adults post high school and throughout the college years.

Learn fundamental practical skills to thoughtfully engage life’s most important questions like, what is my purpose?

Learn to change the conversation about career and discover what makes for successful planning and preparing for the future while handling parent expectations.

What is standing in the way of your being successful? Receive coaching on navigating and overcoming obstacles like procrastination, negative self-talk and lack of motivation.

Develop and implement a personal mission statement to “set your anchor,” and establish your confidence in your own identity, personal values, and priorities.

Consolidate insights gained to develop a 1-month, 6-month and 1-year Action Plan. “I will know I am successful at these intervals when…”

Who should register:

  • College Students who are unsure if they are on track
  • Grade 12 who are still not sure what to do in college
  • Not in School and aged 17 – 25 years
  • Group of Friends or Members of a Youth Group, Scouts, etc.

Saturday, March 20th – Saturday, April 17

Saturday, May 29th – Saturday, June 26th
Saturday, July 31st – Saturday, August 28th
Saturday, September 18th – Saturday, October 16th

Workshops occur weekly after the start date and go for 5 weeks.


Workshop Format

Facilitated by a certified and experienced Counsellor, the design of this program will incorporate group discussions, video segments and interactive handouts and activities.

Venue

Bonavista Baptist Church. 1507 Acadia Dr SE, Calgary. Free parking on site.

Cancellation Policy

Registration deadline is two weeks prior to start of workshop. Cancellations before these dates receive a full refund or can be transferred to another workshop space permitting. After this date and before the start date a 50% refund will be provided. After the workshop start date no refunds will be provided.
