None of us hoped the COVID-19 pandemic would be continuing to spread at this time of year, but this is the reality we are facing. This can be disheartening as this is typically a time of year where some may plan to spend time with their families and loved ones. Just because the holidays may look different this year, this does not mean we cannot connect with our loved ones in different ways.
Some other ways we can connect with family members and loved ones during the holidays this year may include:
- Writing letters/cards and dropping them off/sending them in the mail
- Dropping off or sending presents in the mail
- Video-calling
- Phone calls
- Meeting outside while staying socially distanced (following provincial bylaws/guidelines)
We at Journey Counselling want to wish you all happy holidays, no matter what that looks like. This year will be different than what we are used to. Remember, you are not alone, and we will get through this pandemic together. Enjoy the holidays the best you can and consider different ways of connecting with those that you love.
Journey Counselling will keep a light on and a door open this year. And if you need to visit or work through things with the assistance of a psychologist, please come visit us.
