Samuel Orji, MMP, MC, CCC, is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who works from a culturally informed and strength-based lens with children (10+), teens, adults, couples, families, and 2SLGBTQ+ persons, focusing on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and fostering positive systemic changes.
Samuel practices under the supervision of Charles Coleman and is a Doctor of Psychology Student who completed his Master of Counselling from the City University of Seattle. He completed his internship at the Calgary Counselling Center and has experience working with people with diverse presenting concerns from his other work experiences.
Prior to a career in Counselling, Samuel worked in human resources and obtained a Master’s in Managerial Psychology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Samuel is passionate about understanding how systems and trauma impact and interact with people’s mental health. From a systemic lens, Samuel works to uncover patterns fuelling the problem and the strengths inherent in the client’s story and to help them move towards positive shifts.

Kalee Tuomainen is a committed and empathetic Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and Canadian Certified Counsellor, currently working under the supervision of Charles Coleman. She pursued her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Mount Royal University and earned a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Kalee started her career with an internship in private practice and has also dedicated several years to volunteering with Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA). These experiences have heightened her awareness of the need for tailored mental health responses to address each individual’s unique needs.
Kalee works with individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families. Her goal is to thoroughly understand her clients and their objectives, ensuring that the therapeutic process remains both valuable and meaningful to them. She assists clients in exploring and gaining insight into their strengths, values, emotions, communication issues, boundary concerns, unproductive patterns, and deeply held beliefs that may impact their relationships with themselves and others.
To support individuals on their therapeutic journey, Kalee is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also utilizes the Gottman Method Couples Therapy to assist couples at all stages of their relationships, from those who are newly together to those in long-term partnerships. Additionally, she supports families in understanding the interconnectedness of their interactions and the impact these have, while guiding them in making changes to strengthen their connections.
Outside of work, Kalee is passionate about taking spin and yoga classes, as well as journaling. She also loves golfing in the summer and has recently started to take up curling.

Liv is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists providing primarily Psycho-educational Assessments and working under the supervision of Charles Coleman, PhD. and Angeline Fitch, PhD. Liv obtained their Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Calgary and their Master of Counselling from the City University of Seattle. Liv has a 15-year history volunteering and working in the mental health field, including practicum placements at the Third Academy and the City University of Seattle Calgary Clinic.
Liv’s experience has primarily focused on supporting individuals living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), various learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, and other developmental delays. They volunteered with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario and worked as a Community Disability Practitioner. As a guardian to someone with ASD, Liv brings a wealth of personal experience into their work and understands the experiences of their clients on a deeper level. Liv sees the unique intrinsic value of every client they meet and aims to highlight each client’s abilities and accomplishments to encourage them to become their own inspirations.
Liv has a passion for Psycho-educational Assessment, discovering client’s unique strengths and challenges, giving clients a deeper understanding of themselves, and providing recommendations to support clients in accessing their full potential. Paige is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. She has developed extensive expertise in administering, scoring, and interpreting comprehensive psychological, psychoeducational, vocational, and neuropsychological assessments for teens, adults and older adults. Her work has included helping individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Epilepsy, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), concussion, dementia, and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), often alongside co-occurring psychological concerns. She has worked in a variety of settings including medico-legal settings, hospital settings with Alberta Health Services (AHS), and private practice settings.
In addition to her assessment work, Paige has provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families, addressing concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges. She is certified and has specialized training in trauma-informed therapy for Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and evidence-based approaches, ensuring that each client’s unique needs guide the assessment process and therapeutic recommendations.
Paige brings a warm, curious, and collaborative energy to her work, whether in a clinical setting or in her entrepreneurial ventures. Outside of her clinical work, she is a founder of a global fintech platform combining behavioural science with DeepTech. She applies her understanding of human behaviour to improve user experiences and interface design. Paige enjoys travelling, and has lived abroad in Europe for 2+ years where she learned a second language – Romanian.

Suzanne is a Registered Psychologist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She graduated from City University of Seattle with her Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology before acquiring advanced level training at the Vancouver School for Narrative Therapy. She is currently working toward registration as a Certified Gottman Therapist. Extensive work with minority populations has contributed to Suzanne’s special interest in gender and sexual diversity as well as trauma resilience. She hosts a passion for supporting the LGTBQ2S+ community.
As an advocate for social justice, Suzanne employs a systemic lens to the understanding of individual experience including how social norms, normative language, and oppressive factors influence the development of personal narratives. She engages a relational approach to understanding the affiliation between people and the problems from which they seek extrication. She aims to model authenticity, empathy, hope, and even embrace a little humour in relationships with clients to provide therapeutic interventions that focus on empowering clients to embrace their strengths and initiate change both within themselves and within their systems. Josh is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. He completed his Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge and is currently working toward completing his PhD in Counselling and Psychological Studies at Regent University. Josh’s clinical background includes working with addictions, relationships, and trauma/PTSD. He also has a passion for working with people who have experienced race-based traumatic stress.
Josh loves to laugh with his clients. He enjoys building strong and unique relationships with them and takes great pride in the work that he does.
While Josh approaches therapy primarily through a Cognitive Behavioural framework, the expansion of his clinical work has led him to draw from other modalities such as EMDR, Solution-Focused, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative approaches. Amy is a Registered Psychologist who strives to bring empathy and authenticity to every counselling relationship. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Mount Royal University in Calgary, and went on to obtain her Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology. Amy completed her counselling internship at Third Academy in Calgary, providing therapy services to youth and families.
Amy is privileged to be able to help clients on their therapeutic journey towards change. She is passionate about helping clients to realize their goals, and live out their values fully through a strengths-based approach to counselling. Aida is passionate about building genuine, strong relationships with her clients and feels deeply honoured to witness the healing and transformation that individuals experience when they tap into their inner wisdom. Aida draws from her training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and IMAGO therapy, to passionately work with couples to develop secure attachments and reignite connection in their relationships. Aida uses IFS to support people in healing the trauma underlying a wide array of issues. For the last eight years, Aida has supported parents in making sense of their children and adolescents through an attachment lens and brings a compassionate lens to her work with neurodivergent (ADHD, autism), highly sensitive, and gender non-conforming children.

He is an avid learner who started his education with a BSc. in Zoology before deciding to move into Psychology. He holds a doctorate degree in marriage and family studies from National University in San Diego, California.
He is currently registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists with whom he is recognised as an Approved Supervisor. He enjoys mentoring and developing the next generation of psychologists and family therapists and teaches occasionally at both the University of Calgary and City University.
Charles has lived and traveled internationally spending over 20 years in various cultures and speaking three languages. He enjoys competitive team sports, reading ‘real life’ stories and spending quality time with friends and family around food. He is now learning Spanish ~ Hola!

Having an initial free 15-minute consultation is a great way to determine what is happening in your life, where you are on your journey and which therapist would be a good fit to work with you.
Currently Journey Counselling does directly bill Sunlife, Alberta Blue Cross, Medavie, Greenshield, and Telus Health (Canada Life, Desjardins). For all others, please familiarize yourself with your policy to determine how much you get for counselling. You will leave each session with a receipt that you are able to submit for reimbursement. Note some policies only cover a portion of your counselling fee.
Each of us has influence within the relationships that we are in. When one person changes invariably they affect the relationships that they are in, often in a positive way. Therefore it is recommended that the willing party attend counselling and bring some new perspectives and changed behavior to the relationship to help move it along.
Yes, if both parents are able to, it helps to gain both their perspectives on the child’s strengths and challenges prior to counselling beginning. In addition, when obtaining an assessment, information from both parents is used to develop a wholesome understanding of the child. If one parent is not able to attend, both counselling and assessments can still proceed with the input of the available parent.
Every client has very unique concerns, circumstances, backgrounds and beliefs. These unique qualities determine the client’s needs, expectations and eventually the outcomes, which will affect the pace of their progress. Your therapist will work with you to develop goals for therapy and together monitor change in light of those goals.
